Pramāṇa (Śāstra reference)
Srimad-Bhagavatam, Canto 10, Chapters 45-46 describes how, after completing Their childhood pastimes in Vraja and liberating Mathura from Kamsa’s rule, Sri Krishna and Lord Balarama travel to the gurukula of the sage Sandipani Muni in Avanti, Ujjain. There They study the Vedas, Vedangas, military science, politics, arts, and all branches of knowledge, mastering each subject immediately through perfect attention and service to Their guru.
Saṅkṣepa (short meaning)
Although Sri Krishna and Lord Balarama are the Supreme Personality of Godhead and His first expansion, They voluntarily accept the discipline of a spiritual teacher to establish the eternal principle of guru-disciple relationship. By serving Sandipani Muni with perfect humility, They demonstrate that true knowledge is received through submission, attentive hearing, and service. Completing Their studies in an extraordinarily short time, They later offer guru-daksina by retrieving their guru’s departed son, revealing that the Lord’s gratitude toward His spiritual master is unlimited. This lila teaches that humility before guru is the ornament of even the Supreme Lord.
