Pramāṇa (Śāstra reference)
Srimad-Bhagavatam, Canto 10, Chapter 11 describes how, while Krishna, Balarama and the cowherd boys are tending the calves near Vraja, the great demon Bakasura appears in the form of a gigantic crane. He suddenly swallows Krishna, but the Lord burns like fire within his throat. Spitting Krishna out, Bakasura attacks again with his sharp beak. Krishna seizes the beak and splits it apart, killing the demon and protecting His friends.
Saṅkṣepa (short meaning)
This lila reveals Krishna’s fearless protection of His devotees and His effortless supremacy over demonic power. To the cowherd boys, Bakasura appears like a terrifying living mountain, and when he swallows Krishna they become stunned, as if their own life-air has left them. But Krishna is never overcome. Even inside the demon’s mouth, the Lord remains fully powerful and burns like fire. When Bakasura attacks again, Krishna destroys him with the ease of a child splitting a blade of grass. The lila teaches that the Lord enters even the place of danger to protect those who depend on Him.
